Venue - FISTF World Masters - Malta 2006The World Masters - Malta 2006 is being played at the Marsa Sports and Country Club. The (www.marsasportsclub.com) is a private Club tucked away amongst the quiet shrubbery of the greenest parts of the Island of Malta.

TVenue - FISTF World Masters - Malta 2006he various sport sections include an 18-hole golf course, nineteen tennis courts, five squash courts, cricket pitch, two full sized billiard tables and a large open-air swimming pool. Another section within the Club is the Polo Club, which is reputed to be the first polo club in the western hemisphere, whilst the golf club was founded in 1888. The United Services Sports Club, as it was then known, was inaugurated on 15th August 1901 to provide a permanent home for the Polo and Golf clubs and to serve as a recreational centre for the British Forces then stationed on the island.

The club became civilian in 1971 and numerous changes have been made since then, perhaps the most significant of which was the grassing of the golf course. The club now provides facilities for no less than eight sports disciplines and boasts of a membership nearing 4000; the majority of who are Maltese citizens but including also a large number of expatriate members who have made Malta their home or are working here. The Club also welcomes several thousand visitors per year.

The Clubhouse has an air-conditioned bar and a restaurant. It is a family Club and is open everyday from 8:00am to 10:30pm. Facilities exist for daily and weekly temporary membership for visitors wishing to relax in a friendly, informal atmosphere during their stay in Malta
